GLASGOW, Aug. 17, 2016 (AMP) — Champions League 2016-17 (Qualifiers) : Celtic defeated Hapoel Be'er Sheva by a score of 5-2 (halftime: 3-0), in the first leg of a Champions League qualifier tie on Wednesday night at Celtic Park in Glasgow.

Griffiths Leigh scored dual goals

Celtic dominated the first half thanks to goals from Rogic Tom ('9) and Griffiths Leigh ('39, '45). Leading 3-0 at the break, the Bhoys further widened their lead in the second period by scoring twice (Dembélé '73 and Brown Scott '85).

The second leg between Celtic and Hapoel Be'er Sheva will be played on Tuesday August 23, 2016 (kick-off: 20:45) in Beersheba.
