LEIPZIG, Jul. 12, 2016 (AMP) — Champions League 2016-17 (Qualifiers) : Red Bull Salzburg defeated FK Liepaja by a score of 1-0 (halftime: 0-0), in the first leg of a Champions League qualifier tie on Tuesday night at the Red Bull Arena in Leipzig.

Both teams held off against each other during the first 45 minutes of the game. 0-0 at half time. Everything was decided in the second period with a saving goal by Soriano with just 7 minutes remaining in regulation time.

The second leg between Red Bull Salzburg and FK Liepaja will be played on Tuesday July 19, 2016 (kick-off: 18:00).
