Champions League 2016-17 Qualifiers : BATE held to a 2-2 draw by SJK but qualifies for next round

SEINäJOKI, Jul. 19, 2016 (AMP) — Champions League 2016-17 (Qualifiers) : SJK Seinäjoki tied 2-2 with BATE Borisov (halftime: 1-2), in the second leg of a qualifying game on Tuesday night.

BATE Borisov players started off well by taking the lead thanks to goals by Karnitsky ('15) and Ríos ('29) while SJK Seinäjoki only scored once Ngueukam ('44). However, even though they were leading 2-1 at half time, they could not prevent a comeback by SJK Seinäjoki with a saving goal from Riski in the 61st minute.

BATE, who won the first leg (2-0), advance to the third round of the ongoing Champions League qualifying campaign. SJK is eliminated.
