Champions League 2016-17 Qualifiers : Dinamo Zagreb beats Vardar 3-2 to qualify for next round

ZAGREB, Jul. 20, 2016 (AMP) — Champions League 2016-17 (Qualifiers) : Dinamo Zagreb defeated Vardar by a score of 3-2 (halftime: 0-1), in the first leg of a qualifying game on Wednesday night at the Maksimir Stadium in Zagreb.

Pjaca Marko scored dual goals

Vardar had started off well by taking the lead in the 39th minute with a goal by Velkovski Darko. Trailing 1-0 at half time, the “Modri” nonetheless manage to reverse the direction of the game by scoring three times in the second period (Pjaca Marko '55 on penalty, '70 on penalty and Machado Paulo '79).

Dinamo Zagreb, who won the first leg (3-2), advance to the third round of the ongoing Champions League qualifying campaign. Vardar is eliminated.
