Champions League 2016-17 Qualifiers : Fener beats Monaco 2-1

ISTANBUL, Jul. 27, 2016 (AMP) — Champions League 2016-17 (Qualifiers) : Fenerbahce defeated Monaco by a score of 2-1 (halftime: 1-1), in the first leg of a Champions League qualifier tie on Wednesday night at the Sukru Saracoglu Stadium in Istanbul.

Emenike Emmanuel scored dual goals

Emenike Emmanuel opened the score in the 39th minute, before seeing Monaco catch up in the 42nd minute thanks to Radamel Falcao. 1-1 at half time. The “Canaries” eventually won the game in the second period with with another goal by Emenike Emmanuel in the 61st minute.

The second leg between Fenerbahce and Monaco will be played on Wednesday August 3, 2016 (kick-off: 20:45) in Monaco.
