Champions League 2016-17 Qualifiers : Celtic beats Astana 2-1 to qualify for next round
GLASGOW, Aug. 3, 2016 (AMP) — Champions League 2016-17 (Qualifiers) : Celtic defeated FC Astana by a score of 2-1 (halftime: 1-0), in the second leg of a qualifying game on Wednesday night at Celtic Park in Glasgow.
Celtic dominated the first half thanks to a goal scored by Griffiths Leigh in the 45th minute. Leading 1-0 at the break, the Bhoys further widened their lead in the second period with a goal by Dembélé on penalty in stoppage time.
Celtic, who tied 1-1 in the first leg, advance to the fourth round of the ongoing Champions League qualifying campaign. Astana is eliminated.Fixtures and Results : Third Round
