DAEGU, May. 30, 2001 (AMP) — Korea Japan 2001 : France defeated South Korea by a big score of 5-0 (halftime: 3-0), in a Confederations Cup group stage game on Wednesday afternoon.

The result put the French top of Group 1 with 3 points. In their next game, France will meet Australia on June 1, while South Korea will face Mexico.
