HANOVER, Jun. 16, 2005 (AMP) — Germany 2005 : Mexico defeated Japan by a score of 2-1 (halftime: 1-1), in a Confederations Cup group stage game on Thursday night.

The result put the Mexicans top of Group B with 3 points. In their next game, Mexico will meet Brazil on June 19, while Japan will face Greece.
