MONTEVIDEO, Jan. 28, 1942 (AMP) — Uruguay 1942 : Uruguay defeated Paraguay by a score of 3-1 (halftime: 2-0), in a Copa América final round game (Final tournament) on Wednesday.

The result put the Uruguayans second in the group with 12 points. Paraguay is third with 7 points. In their next game, Uruguay will meet Peru on February 1, while Paraguay will face Brazil.
