Uruguay beats Paraguay 3-0 to win 2011 Copa América
BUENOS AIRES, Jul. 24, 2011 (AMP) — Argentina 2011 : Uruguay claimed a 15th Copa América crown with a 3-0 win against Paraguay (halftime: 2-0) in the final on Sunday afternoon at the Estadio Monumental in Buenos Aires.
Diego Forlán scored dual goals
Uruguay dominated the first half thanks to goals from Suárez ('11) and Forlán ('41). Leading 2-0 at the break, the Uruguayans further widened their lead in the second period with another goal by Forlán with one minute left in regular time.
