SEATTLE, Jul. 8, 2005 (AMP) — USA 2005 : Costa Rica defeated Cuba by a score of 3-1 (halftime: 0-0), in a Gold Cup group stage game on Friday.

The result put the Costa Ricans second in Group B with 6 points. Cuba is bottom with no points. In their last game, Costa Rica will meet group leaders the United States on July 11, while Cuba will face Canada.
