MUSCAT, Jan. 5, 2009 (AMP) — Oman 2009 : Bahrain defeated Iraq by a score of 3-1 (halftime: 1-0), in a Gulf Cup group stage game on Monday at the Sultan Qaboos Sports Complex in Muscat.
The result put the Bahraini top of Group A with 3 points. In their next game, Bahrain will meet second-placed Kuwait at the Sultan Qaboos Sports Complex on January 7, while Iraq will face Oman.
