ENGLAND, Sep. 26, 2015 (AMP) — League Two / Match day 9: After their 1-1 draw against Oxford United on September 19, Pompey returned to winning ways with a 2-1 victory over Bristol Rovers this Saturday.
Portsmouth dominated the first half thanks to a goal scored by Evans Gareth in the 29th minute. Leading 1-0 at the break, Pompey further widened their lead in the second period with a goal by Stockley Jayden in the 71st minute.
Portsmouth FC climbed to first place with 19 points from 9 games, one point ahead of runner-up Wycombe Wanderers FC.
