APIA, May. 12, 2004 (AMP) — Australia 2004 (Qualifiers) : The Fiji defeated Papua New Guinea by a score of 4-2 (halftime: 2-2), in a qualifying game for the 2004 Oceania Nations Cup on Wednesday at the National Soccer Stadium in Apia.
The result put the Fijians third in Group 2 with 3 points. Papua New Guinea is fourth with one point. In their next game, the Fiji will meet the American Samoa at the National Soccer Stadium on May 15, while Papua New Guinea will face the American Samoa.
