BRASíLIA, Aug. 7, 2016 (AMP) — Rio 2016 : Denmark defeated South Africa by a score of 1-0 (halftime: 0-0), in a Olympics group stage game on Sunday night at the Mane Garrincha Stadium in Brasília.

45 minutes of play and neither the Danes nor the South Africans have managed to pull ahead. 0-0 at half time. Everything was settled in the second period with a saving goal by Skov in the 69th minute.

The result put the Dane top of Group A with 4 points. South Africa is bottom with one point. In their last game, Denmark will meet second-placed Brazil at the Mane Garrincha Stadium on August 10, while South Africa will face Iraq.
