Crystal Palace dominated the first half thanks to a goal scored by forward Glenn Murray in the 34th minute. Leading 1-0 at the break, the Eagles further widened their lead in the second period with a goal by Puncheon in the 48th minute.
Manchester City FC are down in fourth place with 61 points from 31 games, one point behind Manchester United FC.
