Uruguay beats Yugoslavia to reach World Cup final
MONTEVIDEO, Jul. 27, 1930 (AMP) — Uruguay 1930 : Uruguay reached the FIFA World Cup final for the very first time in their history with a 6-1 win against Yugoslavia (halftime: 3-1) on Sunday afternoon at the Estadio Centenario in Montevideo.
Pedro Cea scored tripple goals
Yugoslavia opened the score in the score in the 4th minute thanks to Djordje Vujadinovic, before Uruguay regained the advantage with Cea ('18) and Anselmo ('20, '31). Leading 3-1 at the break, the Uruguayans further widened their lead in the second period by scoring three times (Iriarte '61 and Cea '67, '72).
