Italy beats Spain to advance to World Cup semifinals

FLORENCE, Jun. 1, 1934 (AMP) — Italy 1934 : Italy reached the semifinals of the 1934 FIFA World Cup with a 1-0 win against Spain (halftime: 1-0) on Friday afternoon at the Stadio Giovanni Berta in Florence.

All the action happened in the first half, with Italian midfielder Giuseppe Meazza goal in the 11th minute.
