Hungary beats Egypt to reach World Cup quarterfinals
NAPLES, May. 27, 1934 (AMP) — Italy 1934 : Hungary qualified to the quarter-finals of the 1934 FIFA World Cup with a 4-2 win against Egypt (halftime: 2-2) on Sunday afternoon at the Stadio Giorgio Ascarelli in Naples.
Géza Toldi scored dual goals
Two goals for both sides during the first half, Teleki (11e) and Toldi (27e) for Hungary, Fawzi (31e, 39e) for Egypt. After the break, the Hungarians settled the issue with two additional goals by Vincze ('53) and Toldi ('61).
