Italy beats USA to reach World Cup quarterfinals
ROME, May. 27, 1934 (AMP) — Italy 1934 : Italy qualified to the quarter-finals of the 1934 FIFA World Cup with a 7-1 win against the United States (halftime: 3-0) on Sunday afternoon at the Stadio Nazionale del PNF in Rome.
Angelo Schiavio scored tripple goals
Italy dominated the first half thanks to goals from Schiavio ('18, '29) and Orsi ('20). Leading 3-0 at the break, the Italians further widened their lead in the second period by scoring four times (Ferrari '63, Schiavio '64, Orsi '69 and Meazza '90).
