BERN, Jul. 4, 1954 (AMP) — Switzerland 54 : Germany claimed the FIFA World Cup crown with a 3-2 win against Hungary (halftime: 2-2) in the final on Sunday afternoon at the Wankdorf Stadium in Bern.
Helmut Rahn scored dual goals
Two goals for both sides during the first half, Puskás (6e) and Czibor (8e) for Germany, Morlock (10e) and Rahn (18e) for Hungary. After the break, Die Mannschaft settled the issue with another goal courtesy of striker Helmut Rahn, with just 6 minutes remaining in regulation time.
