Brazil beats Wales to advance to World Cup semifinals
GOTHENBURG, Jun. 19, 1958 (AMP) — Sweden 58 : Brazil reached the semifinals of the 1958 FIFA World Cup with a 1-0 win against Wales (halftime: 0-0) on Thursday night at the Ullevi Stadium in Gothenburg.
Both teams held off against each other during the first 45 minutes of the game. 0-0 at half time. Everything was settled in the second period with a saving goal by Brazilian forward Pelé in the 66th minute.
