Brazil beats Sweden 5-2 to win 1958 World Cup
SOLNA, Jun. 29, 1958 (AMP) — Sweden 58 : Brazil claimed the FIFA World Cup crown with a 5-2 win against Sweden (halftime: 2-1) in the final on Sunday afternoon at the Rasunda Stadium in Solna.
Vavá and Pelé scored dual goals
Sweden opened the score in the score in the 4th minute thanks to Nils Liedholm, before Brazil regained the advantage with Vavá ('9, '32). Leading 2-1 at the break, the Brazilians further widened their lead in the second period by scoring three times (Pelé '55, '90 and Zagallo '68).
