SANTIAGO, Jun. 16, 1962 (AMP) — Chile 62 : Chile secured the consolation of third place at the 1962 FIFA World Cup with a 1-0 win against Yugoslavia (halftime: 0-0) on Saturday afternoon at the Estadio Nacional de Chile in Santiago.
Yugoslavia made the Chilians doubt themselves for forty-five minutes. 0-0 at half time. Everything was settled in the second period with a saving goal by Chilian midfielder Eladio Rojas seconds before the end of regulation.
