Brazil beats Czechoslovakia 3-1 to win 1962 World Cup
SANTIAGO, Jun. 17, 1962 (AMP) — Chile 62 : Brazil claimed a second FIFA World Cup crown with a 3-1 win against Czechoslovakia (halftime: 1-1) in the final on Sunday afternoon at the Estadio Nacional de Chile in Santiago.
Czechoslovak midfielder Josef Masopust opened the score in the 15th minute, before seeing Brazil catch up in the 17th minute thanks to Amarildo. 1-1 at half time. The Brazilians eventually won the game in the second period with two more goals by Zito ('69) and Vavá ('78).
