LONDON, Jul. 23, 1966 (AMP) — England 66 : England reached the semifinals of the 1966 FIFA World Cup with a 1-0 win against Argentina (halftime: 0-0) on Saturday afternoon at Wembley Stadium.
45 minutes of play and neither the Englishs nor the Argentines have managed to pull ahead. 0-0 at half time. Everything was settled in the second period with a saving goal by English forward Geoff Hurst in the 78th minute.
