ANKARA, Oct. 23, 1965 (AMP) — England 66 (European Qualifiers) : Turkey defeated Romania by a score of 2-1 (halftime: 1-0), in a qualifying game for the 1966 FIFA World Cup on Saturday.

The result put the Romanians third in Group 4 with 4 points. Turkey is bottom with 2 points. In their last game, Romania will meet group leaders Portugal on November 21, while Turkey will face Czechoslovakia.
