Brazil beats Peru to advance to World Cup semifinals
GUADALAJARA, Jun. 14, 1970 (AMP) — Mexico 70 : Brazil reached the semifinals of the 1970 FIFA World Cup with a 4-2 win against Peru (halftime: 2-1) on Sunday at the Jalisco Stadium in Guadalajara.
Tostão scored dual goals
Brazil dominated the first half thanks to goals from Rivelino ('11) and Tostão ('15). Leading 2-1 at the break, the Brazilians further widened their lead in the second period by scoring twice (Tostão '52 and Jairzinho '75).
