MEXICO CITY, Jun. 20, 1970 (AMP) — Mexico 70 : Germany secured the consolation of third place at the 1970 FIFA World Cup with a 1-0 win against Uruguay (halftime: 1-0) on Saturday afternoon at the Estadio Azteca in Mexico City.
All the action happened in the first half, with German midfielder Wolfgang Overath goal in the 26th minute.
