CARACAS, Aug. 6, 1969 (AMP) — Mexico 70 (South American Qualifiers) : Paraguay defeated Venezuela by a score of 2-0 (halftime: 1-0), in a qualifying game for the 1970 FIFA World Cup on Wednesday.
The result put the Paraguayans second in Group 2 with 2 points. Venezuela is bottom with one point. In their next game, Paraguay will meet group leaders Colombia on August 10, while Venezuela will face Brazil.
