ASUNCIóN, Aug. 21, 1969 (AMP) — Mexico 70 (South American Qualifiers) : Paraguay defeated Venezuela by a score of 1-0 (halftime: 1-0), in a qualifying game for the 1970 FIFA World Cup on Thursday.
The result put the Paraguayans second in Group 2 with 6 points. Venezuela is bottom with one point. In their next game, Paraguay will meet third-placed Colombia on August 24, while Venezuela will face Brazil.
