DUBLIN, May. 4, 1969 (AMP) — Mexico 70 (European Qualifiers) : Czechoslovakia defeated Ireland by a score of 2-1 (halftime: 0-1), in a qualifying game for the 1970 FIFA World Cup on Sunday.

The result put the Czechoslovak top of Group 2 with 6 points. In their next game, Czechoslovakia will meet Hungary on May 25, while Ireland will face Denmark.
