MADRID, Jul. 11, 1982 (AMP) — Spain 82 : Italy claimed a third FIFA World Cup crown with a 3-1 win against Germany (halftime: 0-0) in the final on Sunday night at the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium in Madrid.
Germany made the Italians doubt themselves for forty-five minutes. 0-0 at half time. Everything was decided in the second period with goals by Rossi ('57), Tardelli ('69) and Altobelli ('81).
