SAN JOSé, Nov. 5, 1980 (AMP) — Spain 82 (American Qualifiers) : Costa Rica defeated Panama by a score of 2-0 (halftime: 1-0), in a qualifying game for the 1982 FIFA World Cup on Wednesday.
The result put the Costa Ricans fourth in Group 2 with 4 points. Panama is bottom with one point. In their next game, Costa Rica will meet group leaders Honduras on November 16, while Panama will face Guatemala.
