Cameroon beats Colombia in extra time to reach World Cup quarterfinals
NAPLES, Jun. 23, 1990 (AMP) — Italy 90 : Cameroon qualified to the quarter-finals of the 1990 FIFA World Cup courtesy of a 2-1 extra time victory over Colombia (following a 0-0 draw in regulation) on Saturday afternoon at the San Paolo Stadium in Naples.
Roger Milla scored dual goals
The score was still nil-all after the 90 minutes of regulation time and both teams had to wait for overtime to settle the issue. The Cameroonians finally broke through with goals from Milla ('106, '109), while Redín ('115) scored for Colombia.
