Argentina beats Yugoslavia in shoot out to advance to World Cup semifinals
FLORENCE, Jun. 30, 1990 (AMP) — Italy 90 : Argentina reached the semifinals of the 1990 FIFA World Cup after defeating Yugoslavia 3-2 on penalties (after a 0-0 draw) on Saturday afternoon at the Stadio Artemio Franchi in Florence.
The score was still nil-all at the end of the regulation game time and overtime. The Argentines finally emerged the victors in the penalty shootout session by winning 3-2.
