Germany beats Czechoslovakia to advance to World Cup semifinals
MILAN, Jul. 1, 1990 (AMP) — Italy 90 : Germany reached the semifinals of the 1990 FIFA World Cup with a 1-0 win against Czechoslovakia (halftime: 1-0) on Sunday afternoon at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza in Milan.
All the action happened in the first half, with German midfielder Lothar Matthäus goal on penalty in the 25th minute.
