BARI, Jul. 7, 1990 (AMP) — Italy 90 : Italy secured the consolation of third place at the 1990 FIFA World Cup with a 2-1 win against England (halftime: 0-0) on Saturday night at the Stadio San Nicola in Bari.
England made the Italians doubt themselves for forty-five minutes. 0-0 at half time. Everything was settled in the second period with goals by Baggio ('71) and Schillaci ('86 on penalty).
