PYONGYANG, Jul. 2, 1989 (AMP) — Italy 90 (Asian Qualifiers) : North Korea defeated Hong Kong by a score of 4-1 (halftime: 2-1), in a World Cup qualifying game on Sunday.

The result put the Koreans top of Group 6 with 7 points. Hong Kong is bottom with 3 points. In their last game, North Korea will meet third-placed Indonesia on July 9.
