BERLIN, Oct. 19, 1988 (AMP) — Italy 90 (European Qualifiers) : East Germany defeated Iceland by a score of 2-0 (halftime: 1-0), in a qualifying game for the 1990 FIFA World Cup on Wednesday.
The result put the Germans second in Group 3 with 2 points. Iceland is third with 2 points. In their next game, East Germany will meet Turkey on November 30, while Iceland will face USSR.
