BELGRADE, Nov. 19, 1988 (AMP) — Italy 90 (European Qualifiers) : Yugoslavia defeated France by a score of 3-2 (halftime: 1-1), in a qualifying game for the 1990 FIFA World Cup on Saturday.

The result put the Yugoslav top of Group 5 with 3 points. France is third with 3 points. In their next game, Yugoslavia will meet Cyprus on December 11, while France will face Scotland.
