ZAGREB, Sep. 6, 1989 (AMP) — Italy 90 (European Qualifiers) : Yugoslavia defeated Scotland by a score of 3-1 (halftime: 0-1), in a qualifying game for the 1990 FIFA World Cup on Wednesday.

The result put the Yugoslav top of Group 5 with 10 points. Scotland is second with 9 points. In their next game, Yugoslavia will meet third-placed Norway on October 11, while Scotland will face France.
