Germany beats USA to advance to World Cup semifinals
ULSAN, Jun. 21, 2002 (AMP) — Korea Japan 2002 : Germany reached the semifinals of the 2002 FIFA World Cup with a 1-0 win against the United States (halftime: 1-0) on Friday night at the Munsu Stadium in Ulsan.
All the action happened in the first half, with German midfielder Michael Ballack goal in the 39th minute.
