DAEGU, Jun. 29, 2002 (AMP) — Korea Japan 2002 : Turkey secured the consolation of third place at the 2002 FIFA World Cup with a 3-2 win against South Korea (halftime: 3-1) on Saturday night at the Daegu World Cup Stadium.
İlhan Mansız scored dual goals
Turkey dominated the first half thanks to goals from Şükür ('1) and Mansız ('13, '32). Leading 3-1 at the break, the Turks further widened their lead in the second period with a goal by in the th minute.
