MUSCAT, May. 11, 2001 (AMP) — Korea Japan 2002 (Asian Qualifiers) : Oman defeated the Philippines by a score of 2-1 (halftime: 1-0), in a qualifying game for the 2002 FIFA World Cup on Friday night.
The result put the Omani second in Group 1 with 12 points. The Philippines is third with no points. In their next game, Oman will meet group leaders Syria on May 18, while the Philippines will face Laos.
