KUWET CITY, Feb. 21, 2001 (AMP) — Korea Japan 2002 (Asian Qualifiers) : Bahrain defeated Kyrgyzstan by a score of 2-1 (halftime: 1-1), in a qualifying game for the 2002 FIFA World Cup on Wednesday afternoon.
The result put the Bahraini top of Group 4 with 9 points. Kyrgyzstan is bottom with one point. In their next game, Bahrain will meet third-placed Singapore on February 24, while Kyrgyzstan will face Kuwait.
