BEIRUT, May. 15, 2001 (AMP) — Korea Japan 2002 (Asian Qualifiers) : Lebanon defeated Sri Lanka by a big score of 4-0 (halftime: 1-0), in a qualifying game for the 2002 FIFA World Cup on Tuesday night.
The result put the Lebanese top of Group 5 with 6 points. Sri Lanka is third with no points. In their next game, Lebanon will meet second-placed Thailand on May 17, while Sri Lanka will face Pakistan.
