BEIRUT, May. 17, 2001 (AMP) — Korea Japan 2002 (Asian Qualifiers) : Thailand defeated Lebanon by a score of 2-1 (halftime: 2-1), in a qualifying game for the 2002 FIFA World Cup on Thursday night.
The result put the Thai top of Group 5 with 9 points. Lebanon is second with 6 points. In their next game, Thailand will meet third-placed Sri Lanka on May 26, while Lebanon will face Pakistan.
