BEIRUT, May. 17, 2001 (AMP) — Korea Japan 2002 (Asian Qualifiers) : Pakistan tied 3-3 with Sri Lanka (halftime: 0-1), in a qualifying game for the 2002 FIFA World Cup on Thursday night.

The result put the Sri Lankans third in Group 5 with one point. Pakistan is bottom with one point. In their next game, Sri Lanka will meet second-placed Thailand on May 26, while Pakistan will face Lebanon.
