BANGKOK, May. 26, 2001 (AMP) — Korea Japan 2002 (Asian Qualifiers) : Lebanon defeated Pakistan by a big score of 8-1 (halftime: 4-1), in a qualifying game for the 2002 FIFA World Cup on Saturday afternoon.
The result put the Lebanese top of Group 5 with 9 points. Pakistan is bottom with one point. In their next game, Lebanon will meet third-placed Sri Lanka on May 28, while Pakistan will face Thailand.
